WELCOME TO THE 2011 NO MAS HAMBRE CONFERENCE
Did you know that nearly one in three Latinos face hunger? This is the greatest health-related challenge facing our community, yet many of us choose to ignore it. To address this challenge, LATINO Magazine and its partners convened NO MAS HAMBRE, an initiative intended to raise public awareness of hunger in the Latino community. Because if we can make people aware of this grim reality, we can do something about it. Our country has the resources to feed everyone, and no one should go hungry.
NO MAS HAMBRE brought together hunger relief activists and community leaders from around the country to develop a Latino anti-hunger agenda. They participated in panels and roundtable discussions and heard from speakers such as Vicki Escarra, President of Feeding America, and Tony Hall, Executive director of the Alliance to End Hunger.
